Builder's Alcove - Sliding Doors

A builder's alcove comprises of a framed stud wall which is typically lined with gyprock and then painted. Typically homes already have these as they were built by the builder at the time the house was constructed.

The stud framed walls are the strongest option (as it is a solid wall) and creating these yourself from scratch is easy.

Internals: Often a builder has fitted this out with just raw chipboard and a long hanging rail with maybe some fixed shelves. These don't last very long, nor do they optimize the available space very well. The solution is to remove the existing internals, plaster patch the holes, paint the walls and then fit new wardrobe internals to suit what items of clothing you have.
