Step 1: Set End In

Step 2: Extend End

 L-Shape Corner Configuration

Specifying a 90 degree L-Shape corner configuration is easy. Just follow these 2 steps:

  1. With the robe insert (that is butting into the one that continues into the wall), put in the Special Request box: "Set Left End in 150mm" - See the example picture above called "Set End In".

  2. With the robe internal (that is going all the way to the wall), put in the Special Request box: "Extend Right End 150mm" - See the example picture above called "Extend End".

So, what does this do and why?

  • Extending the end provides the adjoining robe inserts top shelf support at the rear. This can be a measurement different to 150mm if you wish, but 150mm is the industry standard when using wardrobe depths of 450mm.

  • Setting in the end of the adjoining robe insert (by the same amount that you extended the end of the other robe), gives space for the special joining 'H' mold piece, and allows for the cloths (when hung) not to be all 'squashed in' - plus it also makes the overall corner access easier to use. Note: This works perfectly for wardrobe inserts 450mm deep, as this is the industry standard.

Working out sizes:

  • For the wardrobe that runs into the corner, ideally the opening that is left (after the adjoining robe has been attached) is around 400mm to 550mm. So the width of this wardrobe insert = depth of adjoining wardrobe insert (e.g. 450mm) + opening amount (e.g. 550mm) = 1000mm.

  • For the adjoining wardrobe insert, the length of this wall length (e.g. 1200mm) - depth of the wardrobe that runs into the wall (e.g. 450mm) = 750mm.

Most customers prefer to have either a full hang or double hang clothes rail extended into the corner of the room, as this suits the space the best.

You can also simply use this same principle if you had a “U” shaped wardrobe configuration.

Once we receive your quote for validation, we will adjust the quote accordingly (to add in the extra costs of this).
