Laminate (Standard) - Feature Colours
Feature colours are other colours that can be used for the kickboard to either to create a different look or because using the the feature colours option helps in reducing the over-all cost, as using a feature colour is cheaper than using the Vinyl Wrap or Poly Paint options, so you could have Vinyl Wrap or Poly Pint for the doors/drawer fronts, etc, but a feature laminate kickboard colour if your are on a budget.
Laminate (as known as Melamine) is a durable material choice for your kickboards and is suitable for use in all areas of high humidity, such as kitchen and laundry cabinetry and bathroom vanities, but is also extensively used for bedroom wardrobes, shelving, storage and garage cabinets as well as domestic and commercial furniture applications.
It is heat and moisture resistant and the improved durability (due to the 1mm thick ABS impact resistant edging around the outside edges) has enabled laminate to re-capture an increasing large market share over the recent years. Combine this with its low cost (compared to vinyl wrap or poly paint options) makes this ideal option for DIY’ers on a budget (without having to sacrifice durability or quality).
The face of this material is flat (non-profiled) making this material very easy to clean and Its plain and un-cluttered look makes it a very popular choice for today's trend toward a more minimalistic cabinetry design.
Note: Although this product is manufactured to be moisture resistant, it is not water proof and as such kickboards should be silicone sealed where they meet the floor to avoid excessive moisture penetration and possible swelling.

If you require a sample colour chip (to check the colur, finish and feel), you can orgainse this direct from the laminate manufacturer themselves who will post these out to you free of charge or you can visit your local kitchen showroom who will have this laminate colour on public display.

Grain Direction
The grain direction for Kickboards is always horizontal (left to right).
