Wall Ovens + Warming Drawers:

If you want to add a warming drawer to a Wall Oven cabinet, then there are some extra steps that you need to follow (it is not always as straight forward as it may appear). Different oven manufacturers have different requirements, so never assume that 'one size fits all', as it doesn't. You need to carefully check the installation instructions and when calculating measurements - Tip: Be very precise, as every millimetre counts.

Some manufacturers make it really easy for you to work it out and install, whilst others seem to make it harder than it really should be - again refer carefully to the installation instructions. Most manufacturers have their instructions available via the internet (direct from their respective websites). Just do a Google search for on-line videos from the suppliers themselves or from Youtube.

Cabinet construction:
A standard wall oven cabinet is made up of a drawer cabinet below (with one or two drawers), then an oven opening (to suit the exact overall height of the oven), then possibly a microwave unit above, and finally a cabinet at the very top (with either a single door or a pair of doors). The drawer cabinet below comes with a solid top, and the drawer front is automatically set below this cabinet by 3mm - this is the industry standard and suits most ovens.

Typically with warming drawers, these just sit directly on top of this base drawer cabinet, and then the actual oven itself is designed to sit directly on top of the warming drawer.

For the oven opening height, you would need to add both the overall warming drawer height and the overall oven height together, and this would then be the opening height that is needed. If you are unsure of what height this is, your appliance manufacturer or reseller will be able to help you work this out.

Note: Often the height required for the oven plus warming drawer, is not available to be selected from the drop-down list in the Oven Space area. If this is the case, you would just select the closest one, and in the Special requests box make mention of this, for example: oven opening plus warming drawer overall height is 736mm.

Rarely do you require an additional shelf between the warming drawer and an oven, and if you do, normally the shelf is set-back from the face of the oven and warming drawer. You really don’t ever see it when installed – See the example below. If you do require an extra additional shelf, then you can order this direct from the Panels and Parts area on the website.

Note: Typically, you can’t select an oven from one manufacturer and a warming drawer from another and have them fit together with ease. You would normally select these from the same manufacturer.
