Factories and Depots

OzFlatPacks have a number of factories around Australia, so you can pick-up factory direct, have it sent to one of our many depot outlets for easy local pick up, or you can choose to have it home delivered - The choice is yours!

All submitted quotes and enquiries go straight to OzFlatPack's central administration office. From there (once they are accepted), they are processed into CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) cutting lists and machining data, ready for machining by the factory.

Once this is done, the file is sent to the factory ready for next-batch processing. This frees up the factories to do what they do best (which is manufacturing), and ensures that job quality and machining consistency is maintained via a central location.

Factories:

All of our manufacturing factories are located right here in Australia, employing local Australians and using Australian made quality board materials. All the factories use state-of-the-art CNC nesting machines to ensure accuracy, superior quality of cut and low turn-around times are achieved; so our quality is second to none.

At the time of the order, you have the option to pick up direct from a factory (free of charge) or have it sent to one of our many depots around Australia. You can even have it home delivered or organize your own freight company to deliver it.

Depots:

We have depots all around Australia (and we are expanding all the time), so chances are that we have a depot close to you, so you can pick up depot direct.
There is a small charge for using a depot option, as the manufacturing factory needs to package your job, use a freight company to freight it to the depot and then there is a small depot charge itself (to utilize the depot's facilities). All of this service however, is calculated at below cost to you, to ensure that this is a viable alternative to you.

There are currently 2 types of depots: 'depot 1' is a factory to depot direct and 'depot 2' is a factory to satellite depot (a depot not associated with the freight company and having to be trans-freighted). A satellite depot ('depot 2') is more expensive than a standard depot ('depot 1'), so in some cases it may be more cost effective for you to travel a little further and pick it up from a 'depot 1' rather than a 'depot 2'. It all depends on what your circumstances are and your budget.

Different depots have different pricing, as most of the cost is associated with freight transport costs and the weight of your order. The further away from the factory the depot is and the more the job weighs, the more it will cost.

Also, what effects depot pricing is whether the depot is on a main freight route or not. So to make it easy for you, the website has a special built-in automatic calculator to determine this for you.

The depot option is very popular as it allows you to pick up your job at a very low cost, especially if the manufacturing factory is too far away, or home delivery is beyond your budget.
